Starting Weight: 18st 10lbs
This week’s weight: 18st 7lbs
Weight loss/gain: -3lbs
Target:14st
It’s a start! 3lbs down may not look or sound like a number to jump up and down about but I’m really pleased and if I can lose that every week then I’m a happy camper.
I started the year off on the right foot with 3 gym sessions, concentrating mainly on cardio work and cut right down on all the crappy, fatty foods. I discovered a real liking for cold, straight from the tin sweetcorn (with black pepper) & have been lunching on crisp breads with light Philadelphia. I have also been cutting down on portion sizes: replacing all the large dinner plates with smaller plates – a surprisingly easy but effective way of eating less!
The gym sessions consisted of 2km on the cross-trainer, followed by 1mile fast walk/jog on treadmill and then onto the bike for 5km, before some arm & leg weights. It’s been a gentle intro back into it but I’m feeling good for it and will be looking to increase the distances in the coming weeks.
I have signed up to My Fitness Pal online, where I can log all that I eat and it has it all the nutritional values stored on a database. It tells me how many calories I’ve eaten and worked off in its exercise section. It’s a really good tool I think it will really help me keep a track of what I’m eating.
After I have written this, I am heading to the gym for an hour’s moderate cardio. There has been talk of me joining a running club that a friend of mine is a member of. They apparently have beginners group, which think will be my perfect entry level. I shall let you know how that goes (if at all) next week.
A special mention must go to Daniel Pinkney (follow him on Twitter: @danielpinkney), who also has a blog and has shown some AMAZING results. He has really inspired me & Jordan to knuckle down and give it a real go. Our Twitter following is really starting to grow so we can’t be seen to be slackers now can we?
Till next time…
Jock
