After the roaring success of yesterday (I went to the gym) I was riding high on a wave of momentum. I jumped out of bed, put on my gym wear and that was it – off I went. Having let myself get horrifically fat and unfit over the past few months, I have decided to put a bit more emphasis on some cardio; treadmill work, cross-trainer or stationary cycling. Hopefully, whilst getting rid of a bit of fat it will also improve my fitness levels. I used to be able to complete decent length workouts on the stationary bike and I will get back to that again!

Upon arriving at DW I decided to start today with some time on the treadmill, I worked up a bit of a sweat then I did some elements of the LDNM ‘Pull & legs’ session and rounded the morning off with a 10 minute warm down cycle. I must admit I got a bit of a sweat on this morning, it felt good to go and just get it done again. I’m trying to ease myself back in but the temptation is to just use the weights I was using when I used to be a regular gym goer. I’ve got to learn to walk before I run – I need to remember this!
As the saying goes, “Abs are made in the kitchen” well if that’s true, my ‘abs’ must consist of chicken nuggets, burgers, donner meat and chips! I know that diet goes hand-in-hand with training so I paid a visit to a local butcher today and purchased a large quantity of lean mince and chicken breasts. Looking forward to eating simple, but decent healthy meals for the next few weeks.
