At this stage, just over a month in, I expected the initial ‘quick loss’ period to have come to an abrupt end. As is the case with any diet/ weight loss regime, the first few weeks a big loss is relatively easy to achieve. Stop eating rubbish, do a bit more exercise and jobs a good un, weight comes off.

This time round however has seen a more sustained effort from both Jock and myself. It’s been 5 weeks (or so) since we began a serious 2FatMen slog and I’ve got to admit I’m feeling better than I did at the end of 2012. Clothes that were bought pre-Christmas now fit reasonably well as opposed to being overly tight. We’ve both continued playing football and to stand in goal and dive about whilst watching Jock patrol the midfield is really pleasing!

My current weight of 15st 13lb is the lowest I have been since July 2011 and to see that figure on previous weight loss notes (when I’ve tried to do this before) is really rewarding. I know there’s a lot to do, especially if I plan on keeping the weight loss steady and keeping it off, but with Jock to keep me company on this weight loss journey, I have faith that we can continue!
