FIRST STONE GONE!!!!!!!!!!
First milestone reached, first hurdle jumped and many other clichés. It has been hard, and I have had my first slip too: a slip in the shape of the dreaded Cream egg ©. I was a little disappointed in myself but instead of dwelling on it, I rolled my sleeves up and got stuck in over the weekend. I went to a body combat class on Thursday, hit the gym on Friday and then had a very active weekend: Saturday was time for Gabriel Steele (@Steele_Gabriel) to come out to play. A 5 hour wrestling training session was the order of the day and boy was it tough. I even bled for the cause! On Sunday I decided to slip on the old hiking boots and get my arse up a mountain, followed by an evening in the Orange of the mighty FredWest Ham. I am out of XXXL and now down to XXL: this might not seem like much but to me it’s a massive incentive to carry on.
I have signed up to do the Keswick to Barrow charity walk. It’s a 42 mile walk through the Lake District and IF the weather is nice, the backdrop and scenery is bloody beautiful. I aim to finish the walk in 10 hours or under so I will be adding lengthy walks into my training routine.
However time is becoming a factor as my degree is coming to an end and I have so much work to do. I have my 10,000 word dissertation to complete, exams and presentations to prepare for and this week is my final clinical assessment so it’s all go. I’m hoping that come graduation day, I will have a job lined up and be another 2 stone lighter. That would be a pretty good summer for me.
I have been meaning to take pictures as the weeks go by, but seeing as I don’t have a fancy phone and I keep forgetting to buy batteries for my camera, this has not been happening. However I promise to get some snaps up from next week. I foresee a smaller loss next week but as long as I can keep losing a pound or two I will be happy.
