The magic 17 has appeared on scales and I couldn’t be happier!! I was, maybe unrealistically, hoping to hit the one stone lost mark this week. However, another 4lbs is brilliant and it shows a consistent weekly loss. I think many people are put off when they only lose single figure amounts because of the (un)reality shows like Biggest Loser & Fit Club. They show contestants losing huge amounts every week and I think it makes ordinary folk in the street assume that anyone can do that…well they can’t! The people in these shows are taken out of the real world and placed in an environment where everything is controlled for them. They have no kids to look after, no job to stress out about and professional fitness trainers and dieticians available to them, along with a rather swish (free) gym. The poor bastards slog their guts out for a week, and then at the end when it comes to weigh in, they have a super fit & toned Davina McCall, in her slinky figure hugging dress look at them with such sorrow when they only lose 6lbs!!!!! “Aaaaawwww, only 6lbs this week, you must feel let down?” Well, fuck you Davina, I’d be DELIGHTED with a 6lbs loss. Saying that, I will still watch it when it comes back on.
This week saw me attend my first ‘Body Combat’ class and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I was damn near dead at the end but it was well worth it. The 600+ calories burned by it is a massive bonus too. I shall be returning next week and making it a part of my weekly routine. This week also saw the return of the indoor football season and the mighty Fred West-Ham were back in action. Due to a lack of subs, myself & Jordan were forced to play the full game! I was shattered at the end but I felt so much better. I’m almost a stone lighter than when I last played and I could really feel the benefit. (Even if we did lose AND I missed a penalty!)
I am working lates this week so will be heading to the gym during the mornings this week before an evening of x-rays, theatre & broken bodies. Target for next week is just to continue with my current progress and that will take me over the first hurdle of one stone…
