Seeing as I’m detailing our trip into the land of waistlines and abs, I thought I’d at least offer some insight into what I’m suffering away from physical activities…the diet!!

 

Before I decided to get into the healthy way of life I used to eat SO much rubbish: Crisps, chocolate, biscuits, cake, sweets and normally in one sitting.  The fact I could actually get my orbit inducing girth off the couch was a small miracle.  We’re told that the recommended daily allowance of calories for a man is 2500 but the Rosemary Conley plan has me starting on 1200 a day and nothing to eat with more than 5% fat.  Its actually a lot easier than it sounds.

Here is a typical day’s intake for me these days:

Breakfast:             Dry fried raspberries, blueberries, strawberries and blackberries on a crumpet with a tablespoon of Greek yoghurt & teaspoon of honey.

Mid-morning:    Banana

Lunch:                Chicken ceasar salad

Afternoon:          Apple

Dinner:                Rice/Risotto/Pasta dish with low fat meat & vegetables

It is quite easy to enjoy good, filling food and keep it healthy too. I will be able to up my intake to 1400 calories next week and add a “power snack” – I long for a Milky Way!
